Rose Bush Wedding Cake Pops

Rose Bush Wedding Cake Pops – Yum!!!

Rose Bush Wedding Cake Pops - Wedding cakes, wedding favours, wedding cake pops, personalised cake pops, rose bush cake pops, alternative wedding cake

When a lovely bride commissioned these little rosebush cake pops, I was so excited – they were to tie in with her personalised Doll’s house and garden themed wedding. The idea was that guests placed their gifts into the doll’s house and next to the house were the little rose bushes all in different pastels to match her wedding colours – all 175 looked so cute lined up ready to be packed.

At first, I think I may have underestimated how long these little rose bush cake pops would take with 11 roses on each of the 175 rose bushes made a total of 1,925 tiny sugar paste roses – AND they needed to be coloured with edible metallic paint…so I set to work…The quandary was whether to paint the mini roses for the rose bush cake pops before or after they were stuck to the cake pops…I tried both as I wanted these wedding cake pops to be perfect – the final verdict was in favour of sticking them to the rose bush cake pops AFTER sticking them on rather than hand painting each one first and risk getting more paint on me than the roses!!

What a lovely idea for a wedding though – if you are having a cake made of cheese, why not have something alternative for those with a sweet tooth. I look forward to my next wedding commission – maybe a wedding cake or some beautiful personalised wedding favours to decorate the tables with…

Champagne birthday cake pops

Champagne birthday cake pops

Champagne birthday cake pops - any event catered for, great personal service and bespoke designs. Contact us now - Harry's Pop Bakery

A lovely bloke from Birmingham asked me to create some personalised 40th Birthday cake pops for his daughter – the problem was she didn’t really want to shout it out from the rooftops that she was turning 40!!

So, we decided that I would paint ’39ish’ on the champagne labels and her name on the gold foil…this was the most fun (and fiddly) order I have received so far. Here’s hoping more people want champagne bottle cake pops for their celebrations!

Michael Jackson Hen Party Cake Pops

Michael Jackson Hen Party Cake Pops

Michael Jackson hen party cake pops. Edible prints made into Michael Jackson's face, Logo cake pops, corporate gift cake pops

WOW! I was so excited to make these Michael Jackson themed cake pops for a hen party in Brighton this summer. The Hen party was organised by the sister and she wanted the hen party cake pops to be black and silver with some hand painted cake pops as well as the main feature – Michael Jackson’s face! To ensure consistency, I used edible prints for the hen’s Michael Jackson faces – the result was better than I had hoped for!! Using black candy melts can be tricky for cake pops as they can taste funny if you get the wrong consistency – eek! Using edible prints for a cake pop that needs a face on it is by far the best way – they are so easy to use – simply cut out the printed image and stick it onto the cake pops while the candy melts are still slightly sticky and ta dah! you have a face on a cake pop, whether its Michael Jackson or your nearest and dearest!! I love playing around with edible prints…you can create some amazing effects on cake pops and if you need to make a large number of cake pops, edible prints are by far the best way to ensure both consistency and perfection (I am a confessed perfectionist!) I have used edible prints for corporate gift cake pops as well as for Michael Jackson hen party cake pops. They work really well for the majority of logos especially round logos. Square shaped logos work well also but shaping a cake pop into a square is a little more time consuming than making the traditional ball shape

Personalised Miniature Pop Cakes

Personalised Miniature Pop Cakes

Personalised Miniature Pop Cakes - cake pops, wedding favours, personalised cake pops, bright colours, coloured cake pop sticks, wedding breakfast cake pops

At first, I was flummoxed by this commission – ‘cake pops in the style of a cake’! Then I thought of those miniature individual cakes you get in those little presentation boxes and here they are! The miniature cake cake pops needed to be personalised and brightly coloured so I chose my favourite bright colours to make the cake pops in – pink, orange, yellow, turquoise and purple 🙂

There was a miniature (!) moment of panic when I realised I only had 15 white cake pop sticks for this order of 20…BUT…I had some coloured sticks hidden away and there were enough for each coloured cake pop to have a different coloured stick! PHEW!

Anyway, back to my method…To get the miniature cake shape, I rolled the cake pops into regular shaped balls then squished them down a bit between my thumb and forefinger – with a little smoothing and some more rolling I had a miniature cake shape! Then came the dipping and finally the fun part – decorating the cake pops to look like miniature cakes 🙂 I wrote ‘Love Sophie’ on the top of each one for the personalised effect then painted a black ribbon around the centre of each one. Then I played around with the bright colours and painted each coloured cake pop with a different ‘ribbon’. My favourite has to be the yellow with the ribbon that looks like lace! To me, they still didn’t look quite cakey enough to be mini-cakes so after some serious thought (!) I decided to create an icing effect around the edges with candy melts. I used the end of a paintbrush to gently dab a blob on around the edge of each mini cake and at last, my mini-cake cake pops looked like cakes! Hurrah!

I really believe these could be adapted to make great little wedding cakes for favours at a wedding breakfast or even to create an original and unique wedding cake!

Celebration Cake Pop Cakes

Celebration Cake Pop Cakes

celebration cake pop cakes - unique, bespoke designs, wedding cakes, birthday cakes, any celebration cake, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, London

After creating bespoke unique celebration cake pop cakes for friends’ and family’s birthdays, I decided it was time to start selling these little beauties for weddings, birthdays, christenings, any celebration that a bespoke unique cake might be needed for!

The best thing about making these celebration cake pop cakes is the amount of artistic craziness that can go into what starts as a simple celebration cake idea! When a friend said her daughter loved pink and leopard print, the cake pop cake was easy to create – I make a sponge in whatever flavour they like then cover it in double layer of buttercream and finish it off with hand painted celebration cake pops. Another friend wanted her daughter to celebrate her birthday in style and once I found out her favourite cake pops were purple and glittery, the idea for the purple celebration cake came to me – plenty of glitter and icing later, we had one happy 8 year old girl 🙂

My Mother’s 80th birthday celebrations took place in a restaurant and I couldn’t believe that after so much food, people were still able to scoff some cake pops as well as some celebration cake!

I can only imagine what beautiful unique, bespok wedding cakes could be created given the opportunity – tiers of soft sponge with icing and bespoke cake pops all over in a truly celebratory fashion. Yum

There are some drawbacks when creating a cake pop celebration cake – firstly, the cake itself needs to be made last minute unlike the cake pops – so, planning is crucial! Also, the cake works better with buttercream if you are sticking cake pops into the top as fondant icing can be tricky to make holes in neatly. But, the buttercream for the cake pop cake needs to be double-layered to ensure a really good coating – each layer of buttercream needs to set nice and hard in the fridge but not for too long or the cake will dry out!

It helps to put the cake pops for the cake on different length pop sticks to create a more random effect when you place them on top – I found that cutting the plastic cake pops sticks with the kitchen scissors (before sticking the pop on!) worked really well – you can also buy different length cake pops sticks

I hope you like what I have made so far…bring on the celebrations and bring on the unique bespoke celebration cake pop cakes <3
